Based on the published sources and literature, intrasystemic and extrasystemic factors of the modern world democratic transit which cause anti-democratic and anti-liberal transformations of developed liberal democracies were synthesized. Among the internal system factors are: 1) the state-legal aspect associated with the growing mismatch between the pace of the social structure complexity and the ability of man to realize them, the extreme complexity of public administration, the growth of the legal system, loss of legitimacy of existing forms of government and statehood; 2) socio-economic aspect associated with increasing social polarization among national societies, the monopolization of markets by large corporations; 3) political and cultural aspect associated with the loss of faith in democracy, as the best project of social development, due to the inability of political elites to solve pressing problems – from social to environmental, manipulative behavioral practices progress, manifestations of marginality and more. Non-systemic factors are related to: 1) the globalist aspect, which finds practical manifestation in the growth of raw materials, energy and environmental crises, global climate change, epidemiological (pandemic) outbreaks of social diseases, man made disasters, natural disasters; 2) geopolitical aspects, which are manifested in the growing demographic imbalance between Western and non-Western civilizations, narrowing the boundaries of nation states sovereignty, the spread of anti-American / Eurosceptic sentiments and expanding the social base of authoritarian regimes, the permanent growth of terrorist practices as a method of reaching political goals; 3) geoeconomic aspect, which is manifested in the weakening of traditional political institutions as a consequence of economization of international relations, increasing the likelihood of financial and economic crises, destabilization of national economies of peripheral countries, increasing social polarization between rich and poor countries, increasing migration flows to developed countries. It is concluded that the problems of the current stage of democratic transit cannot call into question the fundamental principles of liberal-democratic doctrine as a model of socio-political self-organization and the historical way of realization of socio-political community in general and man as a person in particular
