Abstract
The article outlines the prospects of the national vocational education development in the context of modern realities. Three aspects of the development of the content of vocational education are considered: expansion of specialists training by profession, integration with general education and formation of «basic qualifications». Analysis of the activity of vocational education made it possible to determine the priority aims regarding the future development. It is determined that to improve the situation in vocational education, it is necessary to use effective mechanisms for its development, both at the national and regional levels, namely: to purposefully develop leadership and partnership; promote the development of new public institutions; to ensure continuous monitoring of the quality of vocational education both at the national level and at the level of the individual educational institution; to create a system of electronic control of the learning process; to build an effective system of continuous scientific and professional development of teachers during their professional and pedagogical careers
