Abstract
The rapid development of globalization and integration processes of the present day creates new challenges in all spheres of life of society, and in particular in the educational sphere. All civilized countries are intensively searching for new models of educational development, non-traditional approaches to their implementation based on information and telecommunications technologies. The article examines the impact of globalization and integration processes on the education system, in particular, on the development of vocational education (occupational safety) in higher education institutions (HEIs). The necessity and obligation of teaching the disciplines of professional orientation (occupational safety) during the preparation of students in higher education institutions are substantiated. The necessity to include in the curricula of all specialties of the institutions of higher education of the disciplines of labor protection in Ukraine (this is indicated by the existing regulations and normative documents). Prospects of vocational education on occupational safety, modernization of its contents in accordance with the urgent needs for safety of modern society are analyzed. Emphasis is placed on the need for changes in approaches to the teaching of occupational safety disciplines in the student’s future professional activity. The review of scientific literature sources on the selected topic is carried out. Experts’ opinions regarding the influence of integration and globalization processes on the national higher education system are characterized. The influence of educational reforms on the content of training of specialists in higher education institutions is considered; the influence of processes in higher education institutions on the content of vocational education preparation (labor protection) is established. Conclusions are made from the work done and the prospects for further research in this area are outlined.Occupational safety courses are important normative disciplines for the future teacher training cycle as a whole and the professional training specialist in particular. They are studied with the purpose of formation of future specialists with higher education of the level of knowledge and skills necessary for their further professional activity in the legal and organizational issues of occupational safety, the basics of physiology, occupational health, industrial sanitation, safety of work processes and fire safety, determined by the relevant state education standards
