Abstract

The article discusses current approaches to foreign language learning by older preschoolers. Also, the basic contrasts between language and speech are revealed, the great potential of the educational effect of foreign language on older preschoolers is shown. Children’s speech does not develop by itself, it is inextricably linked to the development of the whole personality. Up to six years, the child’s native language is practically formed. She speaks in short, well-constructed sentences. But knowing your mother tongue is not just about knowing words and being able to build sentences correctly. The child must learn to speak, that is, to master a coherent speech, which is not just a sequence of words and sentences, but also a sequence of coherent thoughts, expressed by correctly chosen phrases of correctly constructed sentences. The development of communicative communication of preschool children takes place both in the course of education and in communication with children and adults, in the work of kindergartens, schools and at home. Cohesive speech of children comes in two forms - dialogical and monologue. Conversational speech is the simplest, situational and emotional form of oral language. In the territory of our country, in the speech of both adults and children, there is a negative transfer of elements of one language system into another. This transposition appears in the lexical, phonetic and grammatical interferences in the Ukrainian language. Language homonymy is also quite common (words that have a common sound complex but are different in meaning)
