Abstract
In this paper is conducted a comparative analysis of higher education systems of two EU countries – Bulgaria and the Netherlands - in the context of integration processes that are carried out in this regional association on the large Eurasian continent. On the example of those two universities, where one of the co- authors of this article is studying simultaniously, the methodology and teaching methods in both of these countries of the European Union are examined, as well as the details of the educational process, to visually show both the structure of the educational activities and the teaching methods that are in service of these two higher educational institutions of the Union. Comparing the situation in the two countries, the authors of the study draw parallels regarding the conclusions consening the general goals of the higher education systems in these parts of the European Union, draw far-reaching conclusions about the prospects for the further development of the preparation process of personnel for the needs of the economies of Bulgaria and the Netherlands, in the context of the development trend of the global world economy. A conclusion is drawn about that the perspectives of development in Bulgaria will be given to those universities that have better adapted to the market conditions and train the relevant specialists in demand in the priority sectors of the Bulgarian economy, and all other universities will be forced to close due to the insufficient number of students. For the Netherlands, as the most developed part of the EU, it can be concluded that, henceforth, it will continue to attract the most motivated young people from Europe, for them to fit into its economy through the local higher education system. At the end of the article, another hypothetical option is considered, in which some countries in Eastern Europe, including Bulgaria, could use their already accumulated scientific, technical and industrial potential to consider other options for their future development, as a generator of high-tech ideas and production
