Abstract
In the article were considered and analyzed the materials, that were published in the columns of the newspaper «Kievlyanin» to promote among the population bonds of domestic government war loans in 1916.The attention was drawn to the fact, that for the first time since 1916 large masses of urban and rural populations were involved in subscribing government domestic bonds. Therefore, it was during this period that the columns of local newspapers were filled with the advertisements and propaganda articles, which popularized and promoted the issuance of war loan bonds. It is proved that during the First World War, the print media were playing an important role in shaping public opinion. All newspaper articles were divided into three groups: advertisements, notes and articles, which made it possible to analyze them in detail and conclude that all of them had a frankly emotional dimension, sent messages that should provoke an emotional reaction in society, arouse patriotic feelings and encouraged sacrifice and charity. Thus, the reader’s consciousness was manipulated, his desires, moods, beliefs were corrected; the algorithm of further actions was suggested, and so on. At the same time, the general background of the situation was escalated around this problem and there was created an artificial excitement in order to speed up the taking of the «right» decision. It was found, that some announcements and articles were accompanied by strong propaganda pressure, which appealed to the patriotic feelings of the population. To the article were published the full texts of announcements, messages and articles from the newspaper “Kievlyanin” for 1916, which made it possible to explicitly considered the style and genres of the texts in order to study the features of the application of propaganda and agitation methods in the print media, which were widely used among the residents to popularize government loan bonds in conditions of war. The texts of the documents are submitted in the original language, preserving their stylistic, using modern spelling rules
