The article substantiates the expediency of using electronic document management systems, which provides the process of creation, management of access and distribution of electronic documents in computer networks, and also provides control over the flow of documents in the organization. The variety of documents, many of their sources, a large number of operations on the document, a significant number of performers, users, the need to store information on paper - all this suggests that the issues of document flow optimization and control of the processing of information are key to any enterprise. This article is devoted to the study of the organization of the creation and movement of internal electronic documents. The flows of electronic documents and their interrelation in the control system are considered. Despite the large number of studies devoted to electronic documents, an attempt was made to specify the sequence of processes for the creation, registration and execution, storage and deletion of internal electronic documents, and to briefly describe each of these steps. The results of the study graphically represent the stages of the life cycle of internal electronic documents, which gave a chance to get a systematic representation of the process of their movement, to identify its main elements and interconnections. Consideration of the stages of the life cycle of internal electronic documents as a whole, where the results of the previous processes are used to implement the following, makes it possible to better understand the peculiarities of individual processes and states of the electronic document as an information object. Thus, research on the routing of electronic documents is a complex, multi stage process, which needs to be improved and implemented in all organizations, since this will allow to systematize, facilitate and improve the efficiency of work
