Abstract
This article deals with the outcomes of the analysis of the modern education system of Austria, which includes four different levels: primary school (Primarstufe), two-leveled secondary school (Sekundarstufe I und Sekundarstufe II), higher education and postgraduate education (Postsekundäre-und Tertiärstufe). In the scholarly article it is defined that the principal authority in terms of administration of schools is provincial committees and the Federal Ministry of Education and Culture (das Bundesministerium für Bildung). For the institutions of higher education, state or private ones, it is the Federal Ministry of Science, Research, and Economics (das Bundesministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Wirtschaft), which provides all the regulation for studying process. Based on analyzed resources, the certain aspects of the education system of Austria have been analyzed in terms of modern development of society. The process of reformation of Austrian education has been also researched. The relevant experience of Austrian higher education has been generalized.
