Modern trends and historical responsibility in the rethinking of the past: The destruction of the inland sea

Abstract

The article critically analyzes the modern concept of the Ukrainian historical school, which aims to unify the effective processes of the past to European historical thought. It is especially noted that this process leads to a new interpretation of historical events. For a sample, a period is taken from the history of Ukraine in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Attention is drawn to the inadmissibility of replacing the basic concepts: the people’s struggle for the Cossack war. In the conclusions, the author emphasizes the main essence of the tragic process of political disintegration of the Inter-Mediterranean region.
