Abstract
The article presents the historiographical analysis of the creative heritage of the scientist, archaeologist D.O. Krainov (1904-1998) on the study of the primeval history of the Crimean peninsula in the context of the two periods. The first, field (1935-1941), - the characteristic features of which were the discovery in the mountain and foothill part of the peninsula series of primitive parking, characterized by the presence of complex stratigraphy and collected rich collections of artifacts; searches for the remains of the Neanderthal man on the Upper Palaeolithic settlements of the Crimea; Detection on the peninsula of the first burial sites of the mosque era. The second period, academic (1955-1957), is marked by the systematization of archaeological material and the analysis of collections collected during the prewar period; the publication of scientific monographs and a series of publications on the Crimean topics (including those dedicated to Tash-Ayr I, II and Zamil-Koba I, II); creation of author periodization of the Crimean monuments of the prehistoric period; the separation of the stages of the genesis of the forms of the primitive man’s economy; actualization of the issues of development of local lore studies, etc.
