Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of legal regulation on software in Ukraine at the present stage of development. The formulation of copyright-related aspects in the field of computer technologies is proposed, taking into account the interests of developers, distributors and users of computer software. The theoretical questions concerning the possibility of providing computer software protection are considered. The results of the study allow us to determine the theoretical approaches to solving a number of problems of software legal protection. Some formulated provisions are debatable and can serve as the basis for further research into legal problems in the field of computer software protection. It is revealed that among the institutes of legal regulation of software the most common in Ukraine is the Institute of copyright protection of software, which has the appropriate forms: the right to make copies of computer software (right to reproduce) and the right to distribute, changing their specifics and scope that are provided depending on the type of software licensing agreements that are used in the field of information technology.
