Abstract
The article studies the functional and stylistic features of naming persons in Ukrainian argot systems and transition of proper nouns into common. It is outlined a place of argot in a substandard system of Ukrainian language, its status, main and additional functions, based on the foreign and domestic linguistic works. It is defi ned the semantic and structural peculiarities of proper nouns in Ukrainian historical sociolects, it is analyzed the main types and methods of semantic nomination of persons in national argots, it is determined their features compared to the common language nominative standard. Particular attention is paid to the research of models and means of naming persons in argot, setting their activity and degree of realization in different sociolect environments. It is analyzed a number of argot models, a phenomenon of transition of proper nouns into common. It is made an attempt to study the functions of not loading of argot vocabulary. The article is focused on the regularities and trends of personal naming in argot, linguistic and extra-linguistic factors of this process, which allows us to make some conclusions about the consistency of the analyzed phenomenon
