Abstract
The differentiation of documentation systems in accordance with management functions and its branch affiliation allows for the division of service documentation systems into two main components: infrastructural and branch, which reflect the functioning of the business entity both at the level of the organization and at the level of the branch in the information space. The study of these documentation systems is handled by a special document science, whose place, despite the differences in the concepts of leading scientists, is clearly defined in the structure of document science. The article presents the author’s view on the block structure of industry documentation systems, taking into account the latest publications of scientists. The purpose of this or that system of industry documentation is detailed, the number of which is determined by the number of areas of social activity, the emergence of new areas of it, which is accompanied by the appearance of new types of documentation. The division of blocks of industry documentation systems into sub-blocks, systems and subsystems of documentation is proposed. On the basis of the qualification scheme of blocks of branch documentation systems developed by the author, a quantitative and qualitative analysis of protected dissertations in the field of document studies for obtaining the corresponding scientific degree was carried out. In order to consolidate the efforts of scientists in the direction of the effective development of industry documentation, rational selection and further development of dissertation topics by specialty, the need to organize and intensify the processes of preparation and protection of high-quality and relevant dissertations of industry documentation systems for the modern digital society is proposed
