Abstract

In the present day, one of the priority directions of education reform in Ukraine is to ensure in every institution of higher education appropriate conditions for training and education of a mentally and physically healthy social personality. However, unfortunately, the culture of a healthy lifestyle has only become relevant in recent years. Domestic higher education institutions paid insufficient attention, and in most cases did not consider the appropriate number of credits for teaching disciplines for the formation of a healthy lifestyle of modern youth of higher education. Due to this fact, student youth devoted little time to physical training and physical activity. Also, the majority of higher education students do not take care of their social and mental health. Cultivating a conscious attitude to one’s health and the health of other citizens as the highest social value, forming hygienic skills and the basics of a healthy lifestyle, strengthening the physical and mental health of modern students of higher education and youth, in particular, is one of the priorities of Ukrainian society and education in particular. In view of this, there is a need to make significant changes to the existing system of forming a healthy lifestyle for future teachers of vocational education in higher education institutions. Conceptual provisions regarding the formation of a healthy lifestyle of the younger generation are reflected in the Constitution of Ukraine (2010), «Basics of the legislation of Ukraine on health care» (2014), «On social work with children and youth» (2012), the National Strategy for the Development of Education of Ukraine on period until 2021 (2013), Sustainable Development Strategy «Ukraine – 2020» (2015), in the Charter of the World Health Organization (1946, 2005). The mentioned documents indicate the necessity of forming a healthy lifestyle through professional education. In the scientific study, the authors analyzed the literary sources of domestic scientists regarding the formation of a healthy lifestyle of those who have obtained higher education and the definition of the concept of «healthy lifestyle». The most important social and psychological factors regarding the formation of a healthy lifestyle of student youth in modern conditions have been determined. The socio-psychological factors regarding the attitude of higher education students of the Faculty of Technological and Mathematical Education of Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav towards health and the formation of a healthy lifestyle have been identified and characterized. The health culture of future teachers of vocational education at the Faculty of Technological and Mathematical Education of Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav was determined by means of a questionnaire (the questionnaire was developed by the authors of the scientific study). The authors focused attention on the importance of pedagogical conditions of socio-psychological factors that have their own internal capabilities, being aimed at the formation of a healthy lifestyle in future teachers of vocational education. Only a systematic combination of pedagogical conditions can achieve the best results and form a healthy lifestyle in future teachers of vocational training
