Abstract

The article analyzes the peculiarities of using multimedia presentations as a means of learning, clarifies their educational capabilities in conducting lessons in history. In the school practice of history teachers, which has a significant variety of types of use of information technology during training sessions, history lessons remain the most common option using presentations, the content of which is focused on demonstrating key points of the lesson topic to schoolchildren. The main purpose of incorporating presentations into school lessons is to ensure that the teaching methods are used to explain and reinforce historical knowledge. History lessons, which are conducted with a significant amount of illustrative material, have always been marked by an increased activation of students' attention. Unrestricted possibilities of presentations allow to solve educational and instructive tasks, which today are set before the school classes. The developed opinion is that properly prepared presentations allow to realize various educational opportunities in the lesson of history. They can be used at all stages of the lesson. Their inclusion in the educational activities of schoolchildren contributes to the rational use of time in class, giving it an intense character and dynamism of conduct. Among the advantages of using multimedia presentations in history lessons should also be noted the provision of students with high quality image demonstration. The modern lesson of history in the form of presentations received a powerful means of teaching material, which significantly increased the level of awareness of historical information by students. Multimedia presentations in class always have a positive emotional impact on students, which has a beneficial effect on the overall cognitive activity of the class. It is concluded that multimedia presentations as a means of managing students' cognitive activities, combined with time-tested effective methods of studying history in school, create a powerful potential for ensuring a high level of quality of students' knowledge. The use of new information opportunities provides a significant deepening of the content of historical material, and the use of non-traditional teaching methods helps the process of forming the practical skills and abilities of students in the assimilation of knowledge, creates an increased interest in the subject. Information and communication technologies in the daily practice of a modern history teacher can not only stimulate the cognitive interest of students in knowledge, but also provide educational work of a problematic, creative, research nature, develop independent activities of schoolchildren, which determines the effectiveness of the educational process of a modern school
