Abstract

The relevance of the study lies in the importance of preserving museums, their funds and exhibits that contain significant information potential that should be involved in the learning process. The purpose of the study - the problem of using the information potential of museums for the formation of professional competence of students. The research methodology is based on regionalist approaches to studying the problem. In the course of the research general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, comparison) were used. A SWOT- analysis of the information potential of museums was used to highlight the main characteristics, innovations, and historical connections. For the processing, typology and modeling of various kinds of information, source studies methods were used. In addition, the study took into account the authors' own experience as guides in museums. The scientific novelty is to create a comprehensive study of the use of information potential of museums to form the professional competence of students. Based on critically analyzed facts and reconstruction of individual events, it is proved that the synergy of museums is aimed at studying the native land (historical past, educational traditions, biographies, art, life, etc.), preservation and promotion of historical experience. All these factors can be used to form the professional competence of students. Specific examples from the practical activities of museums aimed at introducing innovative methods into educational activities are given. Conclusions. Retrospective logical-system analysis of the information potential of museums for the formation of professional competence of students, allowed to outline the following main trends: cultural and historical experience is transmitted through pedagogical methods in the museum environment; the informativeness of museum objects is taken into account; interactive communication is carried out
