The article conveys the relevant problem, namely, initiation of communication of the archives of Ukraine with the local communities aimed at popularization of the archival information as exemplified by the project activity of the State Archives of Kyiv Region. In the context of today’s administrative territorial reformation, it is especially important to promulgate the regional information resource and encourage the local communities to use it. Equally important task is to transform the local archives into a planner of the information and social space for the territorial community. The authors have established that the State Archives of Kyiv Region always implement project activity in practice. From 2018 up to and including 2020, the team of the main archive institution of Kyiv Region participated in 10 intersectoral projects, namely, «Ukrainian Statehood: Revival. 100 Years» (2018), «Historical Kyiv Region, the Testament Land of the Kobzar» (2019), «Beekeeping of Polissia: the Archaic Tradition in the Modern Environment» (2020) and many others. Individual regional projects, «My Heart Belongs to Ukraine» (2018) and «НепрOSTi листи» (2019) were initiated by the team of the State Archives of Kyiv Region. According to the article, successful implementation of the projects first and foremost depends on establishment of the efficient cooperation between the archives and various institutes of social memory, establishments, public authorities, movements, funds, mass media, etc., that enables deeper and fuller discovery of the archive fund valuables and introduces the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine to the people. From 2018 to 2020, the partners of the State Archives of Kyiv Region included dozens of museums, cultural associations, artistic groups. The projects were successfully completed due to assistance of the central authorities and local governments, the State Archival Service of Ukraine, and the archive community of Kyiv Region. Achievements of the State Archives of Kyiv Region in implementation of the intersectoral projects generally prove both efficiency and long-term benefits of this activity. Cooperation and collaboration of the State Archives of Kyiv Region with the local communities and institutions of Kyiv Region may be considered the best way to achieve the ultimate goal of the archive projects, to raise awareness of the citizens of Ukraine about archive information resource and exercise the people’s rights to the information as prescribed by the Constitution and the laws of the country
