The concepts of «information» and «consolidation» are described. Information – information and data that can be stored on physical media or displayed electronically. Consolidation means the processing of information material, the arrangement of data in chronological order or on other formal grounds. Consolidation can result in the publication of collections from individual industries, the adoption of appropriate decisions at the level of all branches of government or a particular organization. It is noted that the «consolidated information» has an English equivalent – Competitive Intelligence. Consolidated information is knowledge that has been selected, analyzed, evaluated, possibly restructured, and reformatted to serve day-to-day, decision-making, and information needs of clients or social groups. Data consolidation is a class of software products designed for the preparation of reports in groups of companies for internal (management, accounting) and external consumers (in particular, government agencies). It has been proven that violations of the integrity, confidentiality and access to competitive information can have a negative impact on consumers of the information product. It is after the transformation of knowledge into an information product that the question of information protection arises. The conclusions outline the main achievements and trends in the development of consolidated information as the basis for the development of the information society. In particular, it is noted that the ways to optimize the development of the scientific field of consolidated information in the Ukrainian information society, taking into account foreign experience, remain relevant
