Abstract

The article investigates the features of informatization of the library institution of higher education Kropyvnytskyi town. The modern directions of activity of book collections of the Central Ukrainian National Technical University and the Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko are analyzed. The progressive directions of informatization of the library of institution of higher education are considered: informatization and automation of work of library establishment; advisory assistance on placing scientific publications in scientometric databases recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science, in particular Scopus or Web of Science Core Collection; improving the library's website; generation and constant filling of the university depository; implementation of measures directed at forming a culture of academic volunteering. A number of factors that influence the process of informatization of the library institution are identified, in particular, subordination to higher level institutions, financial capacity, qualification level of employees, user needs, interaction with book collections in the region. The main stages of informatization of modern libraries institution of higher education are analyzed. The websites of the libraries of the Central Ukrainian National Technical University and the Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko were analyzed for a number of positions, including the availability of necessary information on organizational issues, inactive links, electronic archive of scientific works, electronic catalogs, bibliographic indexes, versions foreign language, statistics, feedback, library subscription services and others. The high level of information content of the websites of the analyzed libraries is attested and suggestions for improving the informatization process are presented. It has been proven that solving these problems is the main driver in the process of forming professional competence
