Abstract

The article analyzes the information sources of the Communal Institution «Izmail Archive», relating to the period from 1944 to 1953. The Izmail Archive began operating as an official institution in 1940. There have been many transformations in the history of the institution: from the Ackerman Regional State Archive of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs to the Branch of the State Archive of the Odessa Region in Izmail. In its current status, the archive has been working and popularizing research work since 1997. Now СU «Izmail Archive» is a unique collection of memories of previous generations, the history of the Danube region. Conventionally, the archival funds of the Izmail Archive are divided into two periods: pre-Soviet and Soviet. The funds of the Soviet period contain information from 1944, which is stored in 711 funds, or 90,245 cases. The article presents an analysis of only part of the funds of the Soviet period, namely those related to the process of collectivization in the Danube region. Based on a wide range of new sources, the events related to collectivization in the Izmail region are analyzed. It is proved that collectivization in the Danube region progressed rather slowly. Examples of violations of joining agricultural cooperatives are given. The process of creation and restoration of collective farms in 1945-1947 is analyzed. The decisions of some minutes of meetings of collective farms are presented. In the structure of СU «Izmail archive» it is possible to allocate 7 groups in which documents on process of collectivization in region contain. These are the funds of local public authorities and public administration; judicial and judicial authorities; planning, statistics and reporting institutions; industrial management institutions and organizations; factories and plants; institutions, enterprises and cooperative organizations of agriculture and fisheries; trade establishments and organizations; financial institutions. Most of the documents stored in the Izmail Archive are unique and important. They enable modern researchers to study the history of the region in various aspects: economic, ethnic, political and social. Modern methods of studying, preserving and processing archival materials allow us not only to more accurately and better present the history of our region, but also to learn the lessons of history on the content of social functions of science in society
