Professional training of documentaries in higher education institutions of Ukraine

Abstract

The article attempts to generalize the experience of training document specialists in higher education institutions at the present stage, outlines the trends in the profession of document scientist, considers the approval of a new standard of higher education in specialty 029 «Information, library and archival affairs» for the first (bachelor) level and for the second (master) level of higher education. Emphasis is placed on the fact that the teacher must pay attention to the formation of students’ educational competencies that make documentologists competitive in today’s labor market. The main components of the educational process are analyzed and it is recommended to teachers to strengthen the motivation of students-documentologists to thoroughly study the work with information in databases and data banks, to create electronic documents. The profession of a document specialist is changing dynamically and qualitatively and requires further research, constant monitoring of the labor market and control over the level of training. We need specialists who know how to professionally process information arrays and resources. Such specialists are able not only to use the knowledge acquired while studying at the university, but also to effectively apply skills and competencies in their professional activities. In the field of information activities, the documentologist must have: methods of collecting, organizing, processing, disseminating, storing information; ability to work with text and graphic editors; text typing skills; information retrieval skills on the Internet; ability to create websites, databases; be able to determine the number of publications in print media, online publications, etc. The vacancies advertised on the Work.ua and Rabota.ua websites for which a document specialist can apply (for example: document specialist, document flow specialist, clerk, librarian, archivist, information analyst) were analyzed, and a list of competencies that the applicant must have was outlined. for the position and the demand for vacant positions for 2020 has been clarified
