Abstract
The world community as societies of every country of the world need consolidation for resistance to those threats that directly affect the basis of entity – life, health, procreation, security, property, well-being. Not only COVID-19 can be referred to such threats, the confrontation in a struggle for world leadership, but also a number of local wars which scale has increased over millennia and have a tend to increase. Six years of military actions, annexed Crimea, millions of migrants, and total impoverishment of the population do not make a complete list of threats that Ukraine is experiencing. Countering threats is possible only through consolidation of the society to achieve a goal everyone supports – a sovereign, independent, democratic, legal and social state; working people living well; popularly supported government; birth rate prevailing over mortality. Consolidation has become the necessity that everyone, both the government and society, must work on to ensure. Therefore, topic we chose for research is one of elements of looking for a way to consolidate the society in Ukraine, and therefore is relevant. So accordingly, the purpose of the article is to explore a civic factor as one of elements of Ukrainian society consolidation. The article analyzes a factor of religion as a powerful lever of influence on a humanitarian sphere of life being able to adjust mentality, promote awareness of ideals and bring united around the most important of them. But the main emphasis is put on civic identification and civil society built upon it as more powerful factors in the consolidation of society. Also it analyzed a factor of freedom as a value, without which all other values lose their sence, and its presence expandes a space of human possibilities in relation to oneself as an active participant in social processes, as domination over oneself. Freedom of independent choice becomes a basis of civic identification of a person and ensures formation of a new quality civil consciousness. All this is possible in a democratic state, where a citizen is assigned with a role of that axis around which all life should revolve and all this should be a kind of national idea for Ukraine in the future. The article pays great attention to the factor of civic identification as a specific mechanism of socialization of an individual, essence of which is conscious identification of own fate with a fate of a country. Particular attention is paid to «civil consciousness» as a qualitative feature of a citizen who is ready and able to permanently and effectively participate in solving public problems – to wit, an active participant in a civil society. Civic identification is able and will be able to find a new collective and personal identity through a culture of citizenship, which, associated with the idea of democracy and democratic values such as freedom, political equality, social justice, tolerance, will lead citizens to consolidation, certainty about the national idea
