Abstract
In the article on the base of the systematization and analysis of published data and best practical experience the main methods of formation of professional competence of future specialists in documentation are analyzed. The signifi cance of professional competence in the educational process is determined. There was emphasized that the formation of professional competence and professional skills of the future specialist in documentation is a serious problem today. It was found that the system of professional training of specialist in documentation needs tangible optimization, implementation of effective educational process of training of highly qualifi ed specialists. On the base of the scientifi c study there was scientifi cally grounded the necessity of formation of professional competence and professional important qualities in preparing of future specialists in documentation. On the result of the study the nature and meaning of terms «competence», «student», «professional competence of specialist in documentation» were clarifi ed.
