Abstract

In the article the essence of information technology (IT) strategy, trends and consequences of their use in education is studied. Rapid paces of informatization of society led to signifi cant changes in everyday life and professional activities. Informatization of education is a key to the condition for the training of specialists able to work in a radically new and increasingly automated conditions. In the article the results of research in the implementation of IT in education are considered; the status and trends of information technologies in Ukraine are shown. The problems are researched and the search of methods and ways of implementing information technologies in educational process was made. The essence of informatization of education, structuring professional knowledge in given subject areas was found and students free access to databases was provided. The process of learning is not aimed at the ability to work with certain software but at the technology to work with various information, audio and video, graphics, text, spreadsheet.
