Abstract
The article discusses the possibility of studying and introduction into scientifi c circulation a suffi ciently broad complex of sources – descriptions of Ukrainian monasteries, created from the mid-XVII to the beginning of XX century. These documents saved a considerable amount of information that has not yet entered into a scientifi c revolution: a historical, statistical, legal, economic, biographical, local studies, ethnographic and others
