Анотація
У статті показано розвиток та становлення вищої освіти на території Черкащини у 20-30-х роках XX століття. Здійснено спробу дослідити створення закладів вищої освіти на території Черкащини у 1920-1930-х роках показати їх краєзнавчу діяльність. Дане питання ще не є достатньо висвітленим в історичному науковому дискурсі, тому в даній статті зроблено спробу це зробити. Особливої актуальності вивчення історії України, місцевої історії, спеціальних історичних дисциплін набуває в наш, коли триває війна і ми маємо знати історію та ідентифікувати себе до історико-культурної приналежності. Під час написання публікації використано принципи науковості, об’єктивності, всебічності. Зі спеціальних історичних методів нами було застосовано порівняльно-історичний, проблемно-хронологічний, ретроспективний, які надають можливість узгодити досліджувані події та факти, викласти матеріал у чіткій хронологічній послідовності та логічній завершеності. Досліджено створення вищих навчальних закладів у Черкасах та Умані, а також їх діяльність на початковому етапі. Черкаський педагогічний технікум і в він 1930 став Черкаським Інститутом народної освіти створено в 1921 році та при ньому йшов розвиток краєзнавчої справи, яка була представлена діяльністю капели бандуристів. В 1930 році вищий навчальний заклад було створено в Умані. Дані вищі навчальні заклади створювалися в добу «українізації», оскільки була потреба у педагогічних кадрах, тривали зміни в освіті, приділялася увага краєзнавчій роботі у загальноосвітніх навчальних закладах, тому потрібна була підготовка вчителів-краєзнавців до впровадження краєзнавчої роботи на місцях. Також відстежено, що на період 1930-х років припадає згортання «українізації», припинення краєзнавчої діяльності, зміни у викладанні суспільних дисциплін. Зроблено висновок, що за нетривалий період «українізації» було зроблено багато, а саме активний розвиток освіти та створення нових вищих навчальних закладів
